The Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement CAVA qualification is offered as a distance learning course with e-learning modules.

The qualification you will receive is the TQUK Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement (RQF)

The online course will explain the theory of assessment process and will explain how you will complete the practical assessments. Your work is uploaded to be marked and your tutor will provide you with feedback and guidance.

You will need to be able to assess 2 people for workplace competency within your organisation. It is important to check that the qualification you are going to assess is suitable for this course. This is to make sure that you will be able to meet all learning outcomes.

For the vocational assessment you will need to assess 2 learners who are completing a vocational qualification. For example people who are completing a first aid, health and safety or customer service qualification.

Practical Assessment Modules: - you will need to provide evidence for:-

Assessment must be based on subjects that have clearly defined and documented learning outcomes. Unit 2 workplace competency needs to be singed off by an assessor at your workplace.

The theory for the CAVA qualification is delivered online and can be accessed via any computer/laptop or mobile device. You will need to be able to download word templates and use them to answer questions. When completed you upload them to the virtual learning environment to be marked.

The course is delivered through our Virtual Learning Environment and you will have access for 12 months. The course is set out in an easy to follow format and this is plenty of time to complete your assignments. You will be provided with the assessment templates to use to prepare your assessments and forms to complete as evidence.

Unit 2 Testimony

For the workplace competency you are required to provide a Professional Statement and Witness Testimony.

The Professional Statement:

  •  must be completed by a workplace assessor
  • they must confirm that you carried out the assessing in the workplace in accordance with the Qualification Specifications.
  • this can be a signed statement on headed paper or similar official document.

The Witness Testimony

  • should be completed by a manager, workplace qualified assessor or competent person.
  • include details of the assessments you have done
  • confirm that it was all you own work and completed in accordance with workplace and qualification rules.
